The VW-AUX, VWR-AUX, and VW02-AUX adapters convert the CD changer port of most 1998-2008 VW and Audi radios to RCA level audio input. Allows direct audio input of an external source such as an iPod, MP3 player, video game, satellite radio tuner, etc.  A direct audio input provides the highest level of sound quality possible- much better than any tape adapter or FM transmitter can provide!  Please note that the CD changer must be disconnected to use the auxiliary input adapter.

The VW-AUX is compatible with 1998-2008 Volkswagen radios equipped with a "round" scan button and a pre-wired 12-pin CD changer connector in the rear of the vehicle. For vehicles not pre-wired for a CD changer in the rear of the vehicle, use the VWR-AUX for single-DIN radios or VW02-AUX for Double-DIN radios.

NOTE: These interfaces feature an RCA input. Most portable media players or computers, etc. will also need a 3.5mm to RCA cable such as this one HERE.

VWR-AUX Vehicle Applications:
The VWR-AUX is compatible with VW radios equipped with a radio that has a "round" scan button and an 8-pin connector on the back of the radio. The VWR-AUX is NOT compatible with 2002.5-2006 double-DIN AM/FM/Cassette/CD factory radios. For 2002.5-2006 double-DIN AM/FM/Cassette/CD factory radios use the VW02-AUX.

Note: For vehicles which are not pre-wired for a CD changer connect at the 8-pin connector on the back of the radio. For vehicles equipped with the Symphony II radio (6-disc in-dash CD changer) or any Audi radio with a one-piece rear connector will require the AA3-HAR harness (sold separately). The VWR-AUX is not compatible with the MMI radio system or navigation radios.

VW02-AUX Vehicle Applications:
The VW02-AUX connects at the CD changer port on the back of the radio of select 2002.5-2008 VW vehicles that feature the Premium 6 double-DIN cassette/CD player radio.
