The FRD04-POD/S from Precision Interface Electronics provides direct connection for an iPod to the OEM radio (with built-in Satellite radio control functions) in your Ford, Lincoln or Mercury Group vehicle. Unlike many other interfaces on the market, the FRD04-POD/S retains the iPod screen and controls as well as basic operation through the CD Changer or steering wheel controls of the OEM radio (i.e. play/pause, track up/down, fast forward/rewind). One simple connection provides digital quality iPod sound and charges your iPod at the same time. Using this interface, the iPod will take the place of the Ford Sirius Satellite radio tiuner, providing you with the most interactive OEM iPod “INTERFACE” in the industry.

PIE has recently added the "iPod Remote" mode to the FRD04-POD/S which allows the controls on the iPod to be unlocked for direct browsing.  This feature is extremely useful for faster navigation of iPods with large song libraries.

NOTE: Not compatible if vehicle is equipped with OEM Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE), navigation, or factory satellite radio. Radio must have satellite radio capabilities, but if Ford factory Sirius satellite radio tuner is present, you must disconnect it as this interface takes the place of the satellite tuner. Some late-built 2005 model radios may have satellite radio capability; however, there is no definite way to determine this. Not compatible with navigation radiosor vehicles with the Ford SYNC system.

Compatible with most iPod models featuring the dock connector including the new iPhone 4G.

The OEM radio’s Sirius Satellite radio controls will be utilized to operate the iPod, allowing you to benefit from:
● Individual search by artist, album, playlist, song, composer etc…
● Ability to display the following TEXT fields: Artist name (12-Characters), Song title (12-Characters), Album title (12-Characters), Playlist name (12-Characters)
● The option of using the OEM radio or iPod to control your iPod.
