The PA11GM, PA11GM45, PA11VETTE and new PA20GM provide direct connection for an iPod and an optional audio source such as satellite radio, DVD, or video game system, while retaining CD changer functions if equipped. Both the iPod and the additional audio source can be selected from the factory radio’s front panel. Allows selection of tracks or playlists. Compatible with all iPod models featuring the dock connector including the new iPod nano and 5G iPod video. The new PA20GM interface is designed for the late-model GM LAN and Class II radios and is especially nice for vehicles equipped with Navigation. Navigation radios use the soft keys on the display for direct control of iPod functions and it displays the iPod information. Three operating modes are available- Playlist, Direct, or Hybrid. In Playlist mode the controls on the radio will operate the iPod only, and the iPod's click wheel is locked out for safety while driving. In the Direct mode the iPod's controls are used to navigate through the iPod's menus and select songs, artists, playlists, etc. and the factory radio controls will provide volume/tone control only. The Hybrid operates like Playlist mode but the iPod controls are unlocked allowing direct access of all controls directly from the iPod's clickwheel. All modes still charge the iPod while connected, for up to one hour to prevent over-charging. For more information, see the PDF manual link for the PA11GM at the bottom of this page.
