These adapter cables provides a direct audio input from any iPod with a dock connector to an aftermarket radio equipped with external CD changer controls. By using the iPod's dock connector for audio output, a line-level full bandwidth audio signal is passed into the radio, providing the highest musical sound quality- much better than any FM transmitter or headphone adapter can provide. The iPod's click wheel controls are still used for song selection, play control, etc. and the display of the iPod is still used for navigation of the iPod's content. These direct audio inputs are only compatible with radios that are CD changer ready. Please note that although these direct audio inputs do provide excellent sound qualilty and a convenient way of bringing your iPod's audio into your aftermarket car stereo, navigating your iPod's content while driving is not recommended. An aftermarket radio iPod interface is a safer alternative that offers the ability to control your iPod using your radio's CD changer controls while your iPod is safely put away inside the glovebox, center console, or other suitable location.
