USA-Spec now makes several different interfaces for the Acura line of vehicles.  The PA11HON, PA15HON2, PA15HON3, PA15ACUxl and the PA15TOY provide direct connection for an iPod and an optional audio source such as satellite radio, DVD, or video game system. Both the iPod and the additional audio source can be selected from the factory radio’s front panel. Allows selection of tracks or playlists. Three different modes to control and play your iPod: Playlist mode, Direct Mode or Folder Mode (not available on all interface models).  The buttons on the radio select between the different operating modes and the Aux Input.  Compatible with iPhone4 and older iPhones running iOS4 (iPhone 3Gs & 3G with iOS4)! 

Playlist Mode: Use iTunes to create up to 4 favorite playlists and access them directly from the radio.  In Playlist Mode the iPod's controls are locked and the radio controls are used to access the contents on the device. Artist name and song title will be displayed on select model BMW Business CD radios.

Direct Mode: Search and select music on iPod just as you would in portable use. The iPod's controls are unlocked and offer complete access to all the contents on the device. You can use Direct Mode to listen to music streamed from Pandora or SIRIUS XM Online! Use the radio or steering wheel controls to perform track up/down, fast forward/rewind and volume up/down. No text is displayed in Direct Mode.

Folder Mode: access iPod's 4 folders namely, Aritist, Album, Playlist, and Songs from the radio directly. (not available on PA11HON)

All modes charge the iPod while connected, for up to one hour to prevent over-charging.

Note:  Most vehicle's equipped with an external CD changer must have the changer disconnected to install the USA-Spec interface.

PA11HON notes:
Display of artist and song tile information on the radio and track search by artist , song tile, or album from the radio are NOT supported. Only the Playlist number and track number will be displayed on the radio.

PA15HON2 & PA15HON3 notes:
Retains CD changer, Rear Seat Entertainment/DVD, and Satellite radio functions and features.  See radio photos below for sample display info:

PA15ACUXL notes:
Works on Vehicles with and without SAT Tuner button. No loss of Live Traffic, Sat tuner,  CD or in dash CD Changer functions. Works on vehicles with or without Sat service activated. See radio photos below for sample display info:
