If you already have an aftermarket stereo, these interface adapters connect in place of a CD changer and provide a direct signal connection between your radio and your iPod. Depending on which aftermarket stereo brand and model you have, there may be two solutions available- audio input only which relies on using the iPod's click wheel for navigation, and direct interface which allows the aftermarket radio to control the iPod's basic functions as if it were a CD changer.
