These adapter cables provides a direct audio input from any iPod with a dock connector to your car's factory radio, using the factory radio's external CD changer input. By using the iPod's dock connector for audio output, a line-level full bandwidth audio signal is passed into the radio, providing the highest musical sound quality- much better than any FM transmitter or headphone adapter can provide. The iPod's click wheel controls are still used for song selection, play control, etc. and the display of the iPod is still used for navigation of the iPod's content. These direct audio inputs are only compatible with radios that are CD changer ready, or came factory equipped with an external CD changer. Note: if the vehicle is equiped with a CD changer it must be disconnected so the iPod adapter can be plugged in. Please note that although these direct audio inputs do provide excellent sound qualilty and a convenient way of bringing your iPod's audio into your car stereo, navigating your iPod's content while driving is not recommended. A factory radio iPod interface is a safer alternative that offers the ability to control your iPod using your radio's CD changer controls while your iPod is safely put away inside the glovebox, center console, or other suitable location.
